What You’ll Know After the Assessment

The Business Catch-Up Assessment is designed to create clarity. No work begins unless you choose to proceed and approve a written proposal.

  • Understand what appears to be outstanding

  • Identify the records and filings likely required

  • Explain the recommended catch-up process

  • Discuss scope, timing and pricing

No work begins unless you review and approve a written proposal.

What to Expect Regarding Pricing

Most catch-up bookkeeping and business tax engagements start at $3,500 USD.

A typical one-year catch-up involving bookkeeping cleanup and one business tax return generally ranges from $4,500 to $6,500 USD.

Multi-year, higher-volume, urgent, or more complicated files may require a larger investment.

Pricing depends on:

• The number of months or years outstanding

• Transaction volume

• Number of bank and credit-card accounts

• Condition of the existing records

• Payroll or sales-tax cleanup required

• Number and type of outstanding business tax returns

• IRS or state notices requiring additional work

Before work begins, you will receive a written proposal showing:

• The agreed scope

• Clear upfront pricing

• Payment terms

• The information required

• The expected timeline

Material work outside the approved scope will be discussed with you before it is performed.

Ongoing accounting plans generally start at $599 per month, depending on transaction volume, account complexity, payroll, sales-tax requirements, and reporting needs.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to have all my records organized before the assessment?

No. Bring whatever information you currently have. Part of the assessment is identifying what may be missing and what will be required.

Can Cayde help if my business is several years behind?

Yes. Cayde specializes in catch-up and cleanup work. Multi-year files are reviewed first so we can determine the required bookkeeping, tax filings, records, and sequence of work.

What if the IRS or a state tax authority has contacted me?

Bring or send the notice before the assessment. We will review what appears to be required and determine whether the matter needs involvement from an appropriately authorized U.S. tax professional.

Who prepares and files the U.S. tax returns?

Cayde coordinates the bookkeeping, records, and client process. U.S. business tax returns are prepared, reviewed, signed, and electronically filed through qualified U.S. tax professionals.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing depends on how far behind the business is, transaction volume, number of accounts, condition of the records, entity type, outstanding returns, payroll or sales-tax issues, and urgency. You receive a written fixed-fee proposal before work begins.

How long does catch-up work take?

Timing depends on the number of periods outstanding, condition of the books, complexity of the returns, and how quickly requested records are provided. The estimated timeline will be included in your proposal.

Can Cayde handle the monthly bookkeeping afterward?

Yes. The goal is not only to fix the backlog, but to install an ongoing process that keeps the books and tax filings current moving forward.

Urgent Tax Notices

Has the IRS or a state tax authority provided a deadline, demand to file, proposed assessment, collection notice, or other urgent correspondence?
